What Is SBCC?
SBCC was founded by modern Baroque composer Peter Alaric DeSimone in December of 2008. The purpose of our organization is to foster Music education outside of the scholastic environment, to encourage networking among composers and performers of early Music, and to advance the valuation of Baroque and Classical Music throughout the world.
What are the membership requirements?
Unlike other similar organizations, we currently offer open membership.
If I join SBCC, will I be required to pay dues?
No. We do not charge dues from our members. This is made possible by a pro-bono hosting agreement with the free online record label Criminal Soul Records.
Is this for real? Do people still write Baroque Music?
Yes.
What are the benefits of joining?
- Your name and URL will be added to our roster of members; a centralized listing of composers who are active in these genres.
- Many composers are also musicians and vice-versa. By networking, you increase the potential for your Music to be performed, and conversely if you are looking for new material to perform, look no further! Since much of this Music is "hot off the press", you might gain the distinction of being the very first musician to ever perform it.
- You may wish to use your membership status on your artistic resume.
